During the afternoon of Sunday March 5 we experienced some downtime
which seems to have been caused by a user's accidental fork bomb (runaway
process creation). The machine became completely unresponsive before any
limits kicked in and clearing up the issue required a reboot. Limits
have been altered such as to avoid such an issue in the future.
Furthermore, we used this opportunity to upgrade to the latest stable
version of the Linux kernel which will support better monitoring of our
storage arrays through the S.M.A.R.T. disk monitoring.
I apologize for the downtime and any inconvenience it may have caused,
-D
