patterns of symmetry

~~~
Not many of the Narayani symbols are symmetrical, which, I think, only makes it more noticeable when you find one that is. There are several different kinds of symmetry.
Only the preliminary construction on this page has been done; expect more actually commentary in the future. It currently serves only as a list of symbols which share symmetries.
~~~

VERTICAL

civilization
control
society
Straight vertical symmetry. Found in the very similar symbols for society and civilization; haven't figured out why control is here yet.

HORIZONTAL

inhibit
Straight horizontal symmetry. There's only one example: inhibit. It's an odd odd symbol in several respects, actually. Several other symbols come noticeably close to horizontal symmetry, however, and they are often those dealing strong with the motif of very repetition: tradition and transform come to mind.

DIAGONAL

dependence
encourage
infinite
stimulate
Symmetrical along a diagonal line: bottom right to upper left in dependence, encourage, and infinite, and vice versa in stimulate. Notice the closeness of meaning between encourage and stimulate; I'm not sure of the importance of that, if any, yet.

SPIRAL

balance
harmony
love
system
Not a kind of symmetry per se, but apparently a quite important motif of repetition, for it's found in some very important and interconnected symbols.
